The UK is ready to advance with using the entire amount of frozen Russian funds to support Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They added that the move would be executed in strong partnership with the United States.

United Kingdom sanctions have blocked over £25bn of Russian funds since Russia launched its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. But, previously, funds allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russian holdings had only been sourced from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and Germany were in agreement in their desire to advance efforts toward employing the complete amount of the frozen Moscow's national funds to end the war.

He added that further measures in the coming days and weeks would heighten the tension on the Russian government.

This declaration follows EU officials convened in the Danish capital recently to discuss employing immobilized Russian assets for a €140 billion credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump called on G7 allies to confiscate or employ seized Russian holdings, based on media sources.

The value of immobilized Russia's funds in the EU is assessed to be almost €211bn.

Moscow executed extensive aerial attacks throughout Ukraine on recently, resulting in electricity outages in large parts of Kyiv, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

A pair of individuals were killed and at least 20 people were hurt in the assault, Ukrainian officials reported.

In a post on X subsequent to the attack, Zelensky wrote that the cynical and calculated attack focused on non-military and power facilities.

"What is required is not empty words but firm measures - from the US, the European Union, and the seven nations - in supplying defense mechanisms and implementing penalties," he stated.

"Each restrictive measure diminishes Russia's war machine," Zelensky noted, in a different message.

Additionally that day, Zelensky told the press he would encourage Sir Keir to participate in the weapons procurement program, under which alliance members buy military equipment from the United States to donate to Ukraine.

While commending the UK's consistent assistance for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should send a clear signal that it would take part in the program, as well as impose additional measures on the Russian Federation.
