The Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Showdown Versus defending champion Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

George Springer previously helped the Astros securing the World Series in 2017.

The Toronto Blue Jays advanced to their initial championship series following the 1993 season by overcoming the Mariners in the seventh seventh game of the AL Championship Series.

Trailing three runs to one, Springer smashed a three-run homer in the seventh frame, propelling the sole Canadian team in the majors to a 4-3 win in the seven-game series. They will now face the defending champions, the team that is the defending champions, in the anticipated Fall Classic.

"It's incredible for our team, our city, the nation," commented Springer, a key player of the Astros team that secured the 2017 championship. "What an unbelievable moment."

Springer has now connected for twenty-three October home runs, making him third in history after Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"There's probably not another person anywhere that I want up in that spot except for Springer with his playoff prowess," noted Schneider.

Seattle, despite leading the early in the series, continue to be the sole team never to appear in a Fall Classic.

Wilson said "there's no question that it's painful" in the wake of his side's defeat at Rogers Centre, but commended their work throughout the year.

"They're an exceptional squad. It's a shame that we had to come out on the wrong side of the series," he continued.

Toronto's team claimed the title on both previous visits in 1992 and 1993, and will welcome the Los Angeles in the first game on the upcoming Friday.
