No league markets parity in the manner of the NFL: it defines their identity. However, after 10 weeks of this season, this isn’t a league with perfect equilibrium among elite teams, poor performers, and average squads. Rather, we see a situation where most of the league is simply fine.

Clear Picture in NFC

Looking at the NFC side, to some degree, the picture becomes more distinct. The Rams and Seahawks (both standing at seven wins, two losses) appear to be the most well-rounded squads in football, and achieved overwhelming triumphs during Sunday's action. The Eagles with six wins even with their challenges maintain one of the most talented rosters throughout football, likewise with the Packers (5-2-1 record). Even the Lions (6-3 standing), who have been inconsistent along both lines of scrimmage and navigating coaching drama, have shown they can defeat good teams. AFC Confusion

Over in the AFC, the playoff picture is a jumbled mess. Your four division leaders after ten games: Indianapolis, New England, Denver (all standing at eight wins) and Steelers (5-4 record). Broncos Situation

The Broncos hold also 8-2, and it still feels like they're nervously waiting. Bo Nix has shown inconsistency, and the offense plodding, while the defensive unit provides most of the responsibility. Lacking competent QB performance, the Broncos aren’t scaring playoff opponents. Los Angeles remains nearby within their division holding a 7-2 record, however, health issues within their blocking corps will create difficulties to achieve championship contention.

Pittsburgh Steelers

And then there’s Pittsburgh, inexplicably frontrunning their division despite being thumped 25-10 by the Chargers on Sunday night. Their scoring margin remains negative, their defense regularly vanishes, and the QB's current constraints at this stage of his career persistently appear. At 5-4, they're barely clinging, but Baltimore, with Lamar Jackson healthy again with manageable games ahead, are on a three-game win streak. It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that the Ravens have narrowed to within one game of Pittsburgh, though the speed of this shift is an indictment of the Steelers' uneven performances. The fact Baltimore began with a 1-5 record and currently seem likely to claim the title is telling about the entire AFC.

Traditional Powers

The Ravens represent a segment among three elite teams – alongside the Bills and Chiefs – powered by their MVP quarterbacks, that would continue to generate the most fear for opponents should they reach postseason. They're the teams everyone hopes to avoid, yet Kansas City and Buffalo continue to self-destruct.

Buffalo Bills

Previously, the Bills were riding high post Chiefs triumph. This weekend they encountered a particularly discouraging setback of the season. They didn't simply fail against Miami; they were embarrassed, falling 30-13 on the road. The Dolphins secured their first triumph versus Buffalo in more than 1,000 days.
